Current Programs

SWF strives to reduce food insecurity and under-employment in Prince William County by implementing the following programs:

Projected Launch Date: March 2025

Sarah's Closet

A neighborhood Food & Goods Pantry:

  • Food assistance - culturally sensitive foods (non refrigerated produce and dry goods) will be offered and distributed on a regular basis, with plans of cold foods to be  introduced in FY2026
  • Partnering with local orgs to host food drives, collect donations, and provide meal distribution
  • Family Clothing/Shoes - gently used apparel for all ages
  • Household goods - gently used furniture, culturally sensitive personal/hygiene products, paper goods, cleaning products, etc. 
  • Advocacy - referrals to other food and household good resources while continuing efforts to increase community awareness

Projected Launch Date: July 2025

Intro. to Food Service (OJT)
On-the-Job Training in the food service industry:

  • 8 week courses that equip participants with the skills to obtain entry level positions in the food service industry
  • Job readiness tools and resources
  • Connecting course students to job opportunities with local businesses
  • Certifications earned upon successful completion of the program course
